Expansive Cook's Kitchen, Beverly Park

A family of three required a large, functional kitchen and improved flow between the living and dining areas, extending seamlessly onto the outdoor deck. While retaining the original front rooms of the dark brick bungalow, the rear of the home was completely remodelled to introduce an expansive cook’s kitchen, an additional bathroom and laundry, and new internal access from the garage.

We designed bespoke joinery, including a bar, to provide ample storage, conceal appliances, and create generous clear surfaces for food preparation and entertaining. Warm walnut timber joinery and natural stone surfaces define this contemporary kitchen, while a restrained palette introduces richer, deeper tones that balance the expansive open interiors.

A skylight aligned with the curved range hood brings natural light to the centre of the kitchen. Continuous splash back tiles, internal drawers, and soft curved edges to the three-metre island reveal how  practicality is balanced with thoughtful detailing.

In the wet areas, textural interest is introduced through terrazzo-patterned surfaces and matte feature tiles arranged in geometric compositions. Vertical stacks of tiles in earthy, muted tones echo the kitchen splash back and bring a sense of continuity to the design.

"We are so glad we worked with Maria to turn our house into our ‘home’. I had never worked with an interior designer before and was nervous about the process, but Maria quickly put me at ease. She pushed me beyond my comfort zone and created innovative solutions that are both functional and beautiful, all within our budget."
